Turning Caterpillars Into PR Butterflies!
: |
Catapult PR’s managing director, Jane Hunt, has started a process to turn caterpillars into butterflies and tourism businesses across Cumbria are already taking her advice on board!
Jane Hunt gave three PR workshops for businesses ranging from award winning hotels and visitor attractions, to furniture makers and outdoor activities providers, at The Shap Wells Hotel, on December 3.
Each workshop had 20-25 participants, all eager to learn how to maximise their marketing budgets and make a high impact using PR.
Many familiar faces were amongst those learning how to build wow factors in to their travel and tourism PR campaigns, how to write a high impact press release, how to continuously create news angles and how to time the release of press materials to travel editors and general news and features editors, locally, regionally and nationally.
Finally, Jane Hunt quoted George Carlin who said “The caterpillar does all the work, but the butterfly gets all the publicity” , reminding workshop attendees that they are competing for a share of voice in their top target publications and if they do not promote their successes, some clever little PR butterfly will!
Jane Hunt says: “The feedback from each of the three groups has been fantastic and I have already had people mailing me their attempts at press releases, so that I can look them over and give further advice.
“Giving the travel PR workshops and getting the great feedback was a very motivating thing to do and I am sure that many more businesses will now have the confidence to go it alone and try to generate their own coverage.”
