Improve Your Image Through PR
: |
Public relations is all about image enhancement and reputation management, but images themselves are a crucial element within a PR campaign’s success, says Catapult PR.
Catapult PR, a best use of photography award winner, is trying to get clients with whom it works in 2010 to resolve to improve their image libraries and make an effort to set up bespoke shoots when needed.
The PR consultancy says that having a good press photo can make the difference between seeing your story as a NIB (news in brief) and delighting in its use as a page lead.
Catapult PR is a consultancy that has always thought pictures as well as words and has some fantastic examples of photography from past campaigns. Clients taking on board the importance of imagery message are benefiting from great exposure, with visuals adding to the story that readers pick up from print media.
Having high resolution images is also key and putting thought into the ‘content’ of a photograph is also hugely important. Whilst it can pay to get a professional photographer to take a shot, what is more important is having messaging within the visual and being different.
“It is my personal mission to encourage more clients to follow the example of those who are really putting effort behind their images and supporting each individual story with a picture that is its match, or sometimes even its superior”, says Catapult PR’s managing director, Jane Hunt.
“Being as creative with the photographic support as with the story itself is a formula that can generate vast amounts of payback, by increasing the number of column inches achieved by a particular campaign or message. Our ethos is to always encourage clients to get the best rate of return on their investment in PR and we will make sure that we harp on about photography until we convince everyone that good photos matter.”
