The need to keep online blog and news areas constantly and correctly refreshed

There’s a good reason for stressing the need for businesses to shake up their thinking when it comes to marketing.  It is incredible how few businesses understand the importance of their website and online news area.  Even if they are commissioning PR, they fail to recognise that the most holistic marketing they could access would offer a combination of online content and  PR, with some social media bolted on.

Even when businesses, insurance brokerages, or visitor and heritage attractions, to name but a few, do have an online news area, it is depressing to see how little cultivation of their online content takes place.  Many either just pay lip service to it and upload a couple of paragraphs per post, thinking that will do the job.  Some do not upload anything at all for months on end.  Often, there is no strategy or plan behind what is being posted.
